A program and nature walk about foraging sustainably, cooking and healing with wild edible plants, medicinal herbs, and mushrooms!

Expand your knowledge of nature (and worldwide cuisine), learning to identify wild edibles and mushrooms, as they are found abundantly around Tenafly Nature Center.  The walk will be slow and easy.

Bobcat Saunders has been cooking and eating wild foods for over 4 decades, and lives to keep finding new and better ways to cook them.  He has researched cooking from many countries, both formally and from regular everyday family cooks, such as Greece, Peru, Turkey, Mexico and China He has also studied with Tom Brown, Jr. (the Tracker), Karen Sherwood, "Wildman" Steve Brill, Peeka Trenkle, Robin Rose Bennett, Barrie Kavasch, and is active in the New Jersey Mycological Association.

Program is intended for both adults and families.  In the event of inclement weather the program will be rescheduled.  Come prepared to walk 1/2 - 1 mile.
