Tenafly Nature Center is organizing a community trash-a-thon, in partnership with the Tenafly Environmental Commission and Green Team. As community members walk around town these days more garbage is being noticed around streets, parks, and even the nature center. So let's do something about it!
Similar to a walk-a-thon, where you raise money from sponsors for each mile walked, a trash-a-thon is a way of raising donations for the number of garbage bags filled while we spend a few hours cleaning up our community within our set timeframe.
Anyone can volunteer to pick up trash, either as an individual or as a family team. Leading up to the day of the cleanup, volunteers are encouraged to collect pledges (donations) from their network. A suggested pledge could range from $5 – $10 per bag of garbage. Rain Date: July 5.
Additionally, all funds raised from Trash-a-thon will be used to support Tenafly CARES and Tenafly Nature Center.

Once you have registered, it's time to get pledges! Contact your family, friends, co-workers, community, etc. and ask if they'd like to make a donation. We highly encourage that all pledgers donate through Sponsor Tenafly Community Cleanup (Trash-A-Thon).
If pledgers would prefer to donate via cash or check, we encourage checks to be made out to the sponsored volunteer, and the volunteer makes a donation through Sponsor Tenafly Community Cleanup (Trash-A-Thon) on the pledger’s behalf.
