We thank you for your interest, but at this time we cannot accept any more participants for this event.
As you might know, Tenafly Nature Center conducts this Boundary Walk each year to assure that the borders of the Nature Center and Lost Brook Preserve are being properly maintained, that no encroachments on the preserved space have occurred, and that any litter accumulated behind homes and the end of streets is removed.
The walk is best done in winter (or early spring!) when trees are free of leaves and the terrain is reasonably clear. Please consider joining us at 10:00 a.m. Sunday March 14. We will meet on the porch of the Redfield Building (visitor's center), for our woodland walk. We’ll divide into 3 or 4 groups, and plan to return around 12:00pm. If weather is questionable, call the TNC at the number below for an update.
TNC will provide maps and trash bags. We advise participants to wear sturdy walking shoes and bring work gloves—we’ll often be off-trail, picking up litter as we go. Smart Phones are also useful to document our findings. Older children who can manage uneven terrain and an occasionally vigorous walk are welcome to join us.
So we can plan appropriately for gear, please let us know if you (and/or family members or friends) will join us on March 14. Hope you can!
All hours are eligible for school volunteer requirements. Face masks are required.
