You are invited to learn about
TNC's Pond Preservation Project

How will it impact you our visitors?
Why it is necessary?
What exactly will take place?

Over the decades, the once 3.5-acre Pfister’s pond has greatly reduced in size at an unnatural rate, resulting in an ecosystem that soon may not technically qualify as a pond.  Without intervention, the pond will disappear, biodiversity will decrease, and the remaining fragmented wetland habitat will become a prime breeding ground for mosquitos. After many years of planning, Tenafly Nature Center, in conjunction with the Mayor and Council of Tenafly, is moving forward with the preservation of Pfister’s Pond.

You are welcome to join members of TNC's staff and board in a discussion about this necessary project that will be taking place this September 2021. Learn about the process and have all your questions answered as we "dive" into the details about this necessary project.

Program is intended for adults ages 18 and up. Program will be held entirely outdoors in our covered pavilion. In case of inclement weather, the program will be held under cover. Social distancing in effect. Masks required when distance cannot be maintained. Pre-registration is requested.
