Date and time are dependent on when our staff here at TNC "spots" the first Spotted Salamander of the season.

Join TNC educators at the small pond near the Visitors’ Center to look for salamanders as they emerge from their underground burrows. This nighttime journey to the water is something the adult amphibians make only once a year, and witnessing it is a truly special experience.

This is a spontaneous, weather-dependent program that can only run when conditions are just right for salamander movement. Space is limited, so be sure to reserve your spot in advance. We’re excited to have you join us! Sign up to receive alerts so you’ll be notified as soon as the ideal night arrives!

Children must be accompanied by an adult, who may attend for free. Children under 2 are always FREE! This program will take place outdoors, rain or shine. For your convenience, strollers can be parked on the porch.

If your plans change and you can no longer attend, or if you have any questions about your registration, please let us know by emailing us at info@tenaflynaturecenter.org. Our staff will process requests within 48 hours.
